Secret Ways to Use Your Website!

June is Entrepreneurs “Do It Yourself” Marketing Month! Did you know that?
It is one of my favorite months for business owners and professionals. It’s a great month to highlight all the things entrepreneurs can do themselves to market their business. In honor ofย  Entrepreneurs “Do It Yourself” Marketing Month, KR Design will be focusing on various tips that you can easily do yourself to market your business.

Today’s tip focuses on your website. Most business owners and professionals under-utilize this tool. Your website is more than just your online storefront. Your website can be your portfolio and speak volumes about your products and services. Your website could be verification that your customer hired the right person to do the job because they read one of your powerful testimonials. Websites can be a powerful tool if used correctly.

How can I use my website more effectively?

When prospects ask a question that you repeatedly answer…
Isn’t that the perfect time to send them your website? Especially if the questions requires an in-depth answer. Isn’t that why you have a FAQ page on your site? Refer people to it!

“I’d like to see more…”
You could arrange to have a meeting but before you whip out your smartphone or planner, send them to your website. Most of us have pictures of products or happy, satisfied customers who have used our services.

“Which service is best for me?”
Most of us have multiple products and services. Rather than trying to explain every service and product, send them to your website. In some cases, the customer doesn’t know exactly what they want or need but your website can help ease some of that pain of finding out.

Bonus: Referrals
On KR Design’s website, we have a Trusted Links page. It makes it easy to refer prospective and current clients to other products and services that they might need with businesses that we trust. I do carry business cards of those businesses with me but it’s a great help to me when I run out of those cards and say, “Go to the Trusted Links page on my website!”

  1. Nice post, thank you. Because I create one-of-a-kind items, I use my website to further illustrate that fact by allowing someone to view items at a closer range from the posted photographs. My inventory is ever-changing, and I have grown to offer an array of hand-made products so it is hard to speak with someone and include details of every creation. It is helpful to direct an art lover to my site, allowing them to visually appreciate the unique qualities. Utilizing my website as an online portfolio, and an organized space where items are listed in specific categories also serve as an organizational tool for me and the inventory I maintain.

  2. Kristen,

I’m so bad about this. I’ve always liked to talk to people either in person or online that I can honestly say my website doesn’t have much information, but the basics and to the point kind of stuff. As you well know after our long conversations I think you have hinted this to me. Guess this weekend will be a working weekend!

    Thanks.

  3. If people go to your website, just make sure the buyer experience is supported and supporting the buyer experience strategy. A dull and boring website does little good but keeping anything but a blogging website fresh is TOUGH

  4. Such an obvious thing to do, and so beautifully simple! Sometimes I find myself in the midst of an unproductive talkathon, and this would be the best possible way to avoid that. I’m sure the customer doesn’t enjoy it either. Bad thing to do!

Thanks for showing the way, KRD! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh, Happy “Do It Yourself” month!
Loved the “secrets” you give us…going to spread the “secret” around, what are girls for! ๐Ÿ™‚
