Being in marketing, you have to be creative. You also have to have “out of the box” thinking and fresh, unique ideas. It also helps to be willing to learn and expand your knowledge of marketing and public relations. These last couple of months have been great, gathering ideas from clients but also from friends and family. If you’re feeling stuck in your marketing, here are a couple of places to look for inspiration:
1. Friends & Family
Friends and family is a great place to start. Chances are you have someone who is creative (or in a creative field) and a conversation can lead to many awesome ideas. Picking up the phone or a lunch date just might be the jump start you need.
2. Your Network
Your network is another place to ask colleagues and other business owners what works for them. I’m always amazed at the amount of information that is given freely! Be willing to listen and take action on suggestions that are given. Always send a “thank you” for their time.
3. Social Media
Social Media is probably one of the best places for inspiration. I find that Twitter gives the best and most helpful articles and blogs. I love passing on great information to others and have a backlog of RT’s! Are you on LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook? Follow key people in your area of business. They constantly give great information about trends and changes that are relevant to your business and industry.
