Kristen’s 3 Key Takeaways

Takeaway #1: Be Specific & Be Clear
Being specific can feel like a challenge at first because you want to help everyone and you feel like anyone can be your customer. There’s a fear of leaving people out who can benefit from what you have to offer. Being specific allows you to set yourself apart and stand out. This is because you’re speaking to a specific type of customer and you’re that “go-to person” for them. By being specific and not broad or general, you’re not fighting the crowd that’s trying to get customers in a general market.

Takeaway #2: Invest In A Mentor
A mentor is someone who has expertise and is willing to give you dedicated space. The dedicated space is where the investment comes in. This is hard for some entrepreneurs but is it worth the pain of wasting money and energy trying to figure it out on your own? Yup, I’ve been there too! If you’re going to put in sweat, time, and energy, you want to make sure this works. A mentor has done all the “wrong things” and have figured it out. Why not embrace mentorship so you can get right to the success part?

Takeaway #3: Be Uncomfortable
Being uncomfortable allows you to stretch yourself as an entrepreneur and as a person, usually at a higher level. For Maribel, this meant an upward spiral of charging higher prices because she was investing in herself at a high level and it was forcing her to get out of her comfort zone. It lit a fire underneath her to make things happen sooner rather than later, making it all part of her growing process. Maribel recommends doing the things that make your knees buckle on a regular basis. This will lead you to success.
